The precursor to most IPOs are, of course, private companies. So we were excited to see CB Insights’ live interactive dashboard of private company fundings around the country.
The short-term trend is slightly up from March. And while I’m not surprised to see a lot of deal flow in California and the Boston area, I am surprised to see on the map the activity in the Rust Belt. It would be interesting to see what deals are happening there.

I was surprised to see the amount of dealflow in the Rust Belt as well. Thanks for providing this information – I would be interested in seeing a follow-up if you happen to find the cause and types of deals being made in that area.
